The Coneflower Corral fabric collection released and shipped to stores in July 2025! This cute Highland cow and coneflower daisy themed fabric has a pastel color scheme featuring peach, caramel, sage green and a purple pop.
I usually like to pride myself with a color scheme that leans toward gender-neutral, but with the lovely pinks, greens and corals, this collection is definitely on the "girl cow-lover" side.

Coneflower Corral is my most recent fabric collection with Clothworks. It is one of the first collections I drew digitally using Procreate on the iPad and then brought the artwork into Photoshop and Illustrator to fine tune the arrangement and make the repeatable pattern.
What was my inspiration?
Daisies are my favorite flower by far, and coneflowers are pretty much the same as daisies in my book. Match that with the recent trend of Highland cows. I grew up around cows (dairy, no horns, mind you) and have been obsessed with these cute furry cows where both the heifer and bull have horns!
So, why not combine them into a fabric collection? !
I think it might be one of my favorites yet. And I know, I know...I say that a lot. Check out the collection by viewing the full Look Book.
So, what's in a Look Book?
The best part of the Look Book is seeing all of the swatches for the whole collection, at a glance. Imagine going into the fabric store, and seeing each bolt lined up side by side on the shelf. You get a feel for the whole color palette and vibe all at once.
Even better, with a Clothworks Look Book, you can see recommended quilt patterns and mockups of what the fabrics would look like when the pattern is sewn from the fabrics in the collection.

Why are the cows so small on the fabric?
When you see the fabric in person you realize how small the cow heads are. This is strategic, so as a quilter you can cut out a 2x2 inch square and still see a full cow head.
But... if you're like me and like larger scale motifs, then I recommend visiting my Spoonflower shop. I created a collection of just Highland Cows in a larger scale, ready for making sweet pea gauze (muslin) swaddling blankets. Three of the prints have text added saying, "New to the Herd".
What's with the Highland Cows?
I'm not sure when I became obsessed with the woolly-bully fuzzy-faced Highland cows, but I am surprised it didn't happen sooner! As mentioned earlier, I grew up on a dairy farm where I was used to being around large four-legged critters, and even showed them at the local county fair.
Blast from the past... Teresa as a 4-Her showing Suzie, her very white Holstein cow at Grant County Fair in Herman MN circa 1984. Suzie was incredibly hard to clean up for show but trained well and knew how to behave in the ring. We were rewarded with a blue!
I met this cutie pie (cow) just this week at the local Stevens county Fair in Morris, MN.
